Tree question for Northeast (United States)?

Adan Stribble: I also live in zone 6 in the northeast but without more information it's very difficult to identify the tree you are talking about. Why not look up the site of the show and maybe they they will mention the episode you saw.

Dale Mccoun: Many common trees are now available in mini or fastigate (tall and thin) shapes. You can buy many varieties including oak (quercus). Check with your local nursery for any varieties that suit your area. Also check the plant finder sections of Better HOmes and Gardens or BBC Gardening sites. They have pictures and you may spot the same tree you saw on the show. Also, does the DIY show have a website sometimes they provide a list of plants they used in particular episodes, it may be as easy as that. It shouldn't be a problem to find one. Something like Pyrus 'Capital' may suit your needs....Show more
