Charissa Bichsel: missed how delicious meat is!
Nestor Klan: being a vegetarian makes u mamly and not beastly. the animals u eat makes u like one among them. eat healthy and be friendly.
Darcie Peraha: Someone once called me a stupid wh*re when they found out I was vegan....Ive no idea why though. But my uncle is always being mean about it. Everything im about to eat he will grab and say "are you suuuure you can eat this?" he will check the ingrediants on things (even thngs i am not going to eat) and declare "ok you can eat this" or "NOPE This has (animal product) in it! YOu cant eat it or you will go to hell". There was one time I thought I ate cheese (it turned out to be raw dough in a stromboli tho) and he was like "So now your gonna go to hell" (or something like that. I keep trying to tell him vegan isnt a religion but he dosnt listen. and he does this to me EVERY time I see him)...Show more
Russell Mckinzie: I would say the overall ignorance some pe! ople have towards the vegan way of life is the most offensive thing in and of itself
Rivka Killmer: Is their a website I can look at to see all the things or a list?
Pasty Cobbett: what is the meanest thing ever said to you as a vegetarian
Cherry Stampka: Gradually cut out things in your diet, start with the obvious, meat. Work your way down until you are familiar with some vegan recipes, and substitutions. Balanced meals with proper vitamin intake are very important. Making switches like regular cows milk to almond/soy/rice/hemp etc milk is probably the easiest. I'd recommend Amy's brand frozen items as a good stepping stone, and daiya cheese to get over the hardest hurdle.
Reginald Maxi: ur healthy but u lack protein so there's constantly risks for being less healthier. Also, if ur strict vegetarian, you can't have certain foods that u didn't think about before which you might like. its good if ur trying to lose weight the healthy and best way. J! ust be careful.
Irving Jordahl: Well you can do the cave! man diet.. Eat nothing but twigs, leaves, grass, bushes, ants, and eggs. big juicy eggs 8=====>
Elbert Donatelli: I don't think i can compete with the uncle saying you're going to hell, but i had to hear this everyday so to me it was awful, but my bf at the time has a dad that use to say "You're starving him!" "That is just plain stupid!" and btw his son is about 5' 9" and 180, and i'm 5' 4" and 115 and his dad would always say that he'll be my size in no time, then recently my new bf's mom said "Oh honey, you're gonna get sick if you eat that way" and my ex bf's dad use to sneak meat into our diet by buying tuna, he was pretending to be nice and helpful by buying it, but tuna is still a meat, he was just trying to get his son to eat protein, he's a control freak and was trying to control the situation, just having to deal with uneducated statements is horrible to deal with everyday...Show more
Kate Baune: These are not the pros and cons most people would list, ! but these are my pros and cons:Veg Pro: less cancer, less diabetes, less heart disease, less obesity, longer lifespan, it is cheaper to buy veggies than to buy meat, plus not eating the blood, veins, fat, skin, and flesh of dead animals.Veg Con: risk of vitamin deficiency. Honestly can't think of anything else negative....Show more
Jacques Vaquera: PROS Major
Marion Wieboldt: GOOGLE IT...bean taco(it sucks though)vegetablespastatom ramen
Silvia Stclair: being a veg head, i kno that it's hard to look at meat...i hate that feeling of a creature being killed. but you can get protein frome other items. you get to live a healthy life style and i'm as fit as ever. you do have to exercise often, but you get used to it! go ahead n bcum a vegetarian if you want.
Kara Tabian: When I was one my dad tried to sneak meat into my food. He always criticized me for being one, which made it hard to be one. He's a hunter, and though I'm not one now I'll go back to it o! nce I'm not living "under his roof".
Brian Freedland: Ive been a v! eggie all my life and i remember a kid when i was about 5 trying to convince me that fruit and veg screamed in pain when they were harvested. I went home crying to my parents and they told me that it wasn't true. But that experience scarred me for a while.
Travis Colomb: Just don't eat meat and you need to start taking pills for the nutritions and vitamins you would get from meat
Asa Soho: Pretty much as Wiccagirl and Julia said - easier to list things vegetarians don't eat. They don't eat animals (mammals, marsupials, monotremes, reptiles, birds, amphibians, fish, crustaceans, mollusks, insects, arachnids, annelids, etc.) or slaughter byproducts (gelatin, rennet, pepsin, lard, tallow, dripping, carmine, shellac, etc.).They can eat just about any edible part of a plant (fruit, vegetables, grains, seeds, nuts, spices, herbs, etc.), fungus (mushrooms, yeast, etc.) or alga (seaweed, spirulina), plus minerals (such as salt), water, and some also eat honey and/or dair! y products (the ones which don't contain gelatin, rennet or pepsin, of course) and/or eggs (unfertilised bird's eggs, but not fish eggs or reptile eggs or monotreme eggs or amphibian eggs, for some reason). It would take a lot more space than is available here to list them all. I don't know of a particular website, but there is a wonderful book which lists a great many of them - from Acacia pods right through to Zucchini.Edible : the illustrated guide to the world's food plants. Cameron House, 2008. ISBN 9781741730326
Cecil Derenzi: Pretty much everything but meat (chicken, beef, pork, etc.)and seafood (shrimp salmon etc.) dairy products too if your going vegan. (ice cream, chocolate, cheese, milk, etc.)
Renita Sefton: There are alot of pros and cons whether to be a vegetarian or not. For me the high price of meat at 1980 or a tad before thenwas the thing that caused me to become Vegetarian. I never really cared all that much for meat anyhow. Also I never like! d seethe blood from meat. I use to vomit whenever I saw that. If yo! u really like meat you'll never give it up entirely! For me I remain a vegetarian because it made me healthier. Meat was clogging my arteries when I was a meat eater. Not everyone is cut out to be a Meat eater and Not everyone is cut out to be a Vegetarian. If you want to know pros and cons about vegetarian you can go to the 7th day Adventist Church.. someone there would like be most pleased to help you become a vegetarian.. 7th day Adventists are not against meat eaters.but They are against eating Pork but many believe Vegetarians are Blessed! Jeff Frizzell: I watched a video on PETA's website a! nd it was inside a slaughterhouse. It was really sad. I couldn't eat meat ever again. I imagined my dog being in a slaughterhouse and it scared me so much. You shouldn't just quit cold turkey. Limit the amount of meat and dairy that you eat. If you do it all at once, you could get sick since you aren't getting protein. Eat lots of lentils and pulses. Good luck.DO NOT WATCH THE VIDEO YOU WILL BE SCARED FOR LIFE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO LOOK AT MEAT THE SAME WAY EVER AGAIN....Show more
Keven Drumgole: Carrots, watery oatmeal, asparagus, and that's about it. No wonder they all suffer from malnutrition and are weak.
Donald Caravalho: It's easier to list what a vegetarian can't eat, actually. No meat, obviously. This means red meat, chickens, fish, shrimp, etc. Simplest rule of thumb is "don't eat it if you had to kill an animal for the food. However, bits of animals are used in many foods. You need to look for:Gelatin - Gummy candies, starbursts, Jr mints! , most yogurts, Jello, marshmallows, some soups, etc.Rennet - in many c! heeses.Carmine - Red food dye (mostly in some juices and yogurts and some red candies)Beef and chicken fat or stocks - in soups, Twinkies (and most Hostess products) McDonald's fries. There are also some weird things. Like once I picked up orange juice and found it had fish oil....Show more
Buddy Ardd: As others have mentioned, it's easier to find things that they can't eat. However, I'll do my best to let you know what they can eat. Vegetarians can eat ANYTHING that is from the plant or fungus kingdoms (and is not non-toxic). They can also eat eggs (so long as they are still yolk and white and not full of fetal chick, not that they'd want to) and dairy (so long as it is not coagulated with rennet or pepsin, or contains any other slaughter-based coagulant or gelling agent). I hope that helps.
Mitzie Clough: no meat, duh
Houston Venezia: go eat some meat before you collapseone person don't make a diffencethe animals are already dead
Georgina Natal: Pr! o no high cholesterol, con no animal protein.
Kris Otuafi: Here is a really simple step. Go to http://www.peta.org/living/vegetarian-living/free-...and have them send you the free starter kit.
Verdie Wollen: Its tough to eat out when you dont even eat food that has lard or animal broth.
Lewis Ranft: Apparently there are not many cons to being a vegetarian:http://www.drgourmet.com/askdrgourmet/vegatarianpr...
Ulysses Failey: The pros are: 1. No animals have to die unnecessarily 2. Less chance of getting sick (mad cow, salmonella, e-coli, etc...) 3. Better digestion (due to the fact that meat is hard for the body to digest) 4. Weight loss (I lost 20 pounds) 5. No guilt when you see a PETA ad 6. You don't feel like hypocrite when you become upset at the thought that dogs and cats are food in some countries 7. Vegetarians sm! ell better (lots of vegetarians think that meat eaters have a funny odo! ur) 8. Vegetarianism is a good conversation starter 9. Pigs are smarter than dolphins and some primates and their intelligence has been compared to that of a three year old child 10. Animals aren't ours to cage, control, kill and eat (What makes people so superior?)The cons are: Sorry can't think of any. Go Veggie!...Show more
Delmy Varano: Read Diet for a New America by John Robbins for information on the benefits of a vegetarian diet.
Kip Ockenfels: If you're going to eliminate meat and dairy, the biggest challenge is getting enough protein. I'm not vegan but I love eating a variety of foods, and tend to avoid a lot of dairy.I love almond milk! My favorite kind is the almond breeze brand, the unsweetened vanilla flavor is the best one. the silk unsweetened almond milk is pretty good too.If you aim for a high protein diet, eat tofu and soy products. The original flavor boca burgers are really ! good! each one has only 70 calories and 13 grams of protein. (they might be a little expensive though) I also like firm tofu. They can make almost anything with soy nowadays, although can't guarantee that some if it will taste the best. (like tofu made hotdogs are a little questionable)Obviously lots of vegetables are good, and nuts.I'm not sure about bodywash and toothpaste, ask someone else about that one....Show more

Sonya Volcko: Well, since I'm a guy I've been told many things or been called "pussy", but that's mostly of people who don't know me but once they do they are cool about it. Also when I was very little my mom gave me a meat and when I started screaming that it's a meat my dad said to my mom like "why are you doing this to him when you know he hates it so much" and my mom was like "but I want him to eat meat so he will" this last sentence mad me so mad that I took a table with the soup and threw it to the kitchen and then didn't eat for a month and even now, after 5 years I still control everything she gives me.
