Why are so many people uneducated about global warming?

Eva Lichlyter: If you shorten your question to "Why are so many people uneducated?" and think about that, then the answer to the original question will become obvious. You could also ask why politicians seem to know so little about it, particularly when they are the people who can do something about it - if anything can be done.

Ivan Velazquez: As long as it does not interfere with football season nobody will ever care

Letitia Bigelow: I concur. It is amazing that all maters or what are perceived to be weather anomalies or differences are attributed to "Global Warming" What happened to the coming Ice age they shoved down our throats in the 1970's? Or more recently The same people that are now attributing this "warm" winter to Global Warming were the same ones who explained in great depth how the overly cold & snow Northeast winter of 2003 was attributable to the global warming pattern shift..Cant have it both ways people. And what happened to the "horrific" hur! ricane season we were assured of for 2006???Honestly there is clearly not enough (if any) scientific data and fact to back up the far reaching claims of the Global Warming myth.........Show more

Elaina Adolfson: People are being mislead and misinformed by the scientists themselves who are forcing bad science into text books, and the institutions of learning, from K1- K12 to the colleges, and universities.Let me be specific: Every single weather forecast you see on TV, in the paper, or on the Net, display the weather patterns and maps in relation to the earth's equator.Yet every single ray of sunshine, every single BTU (calorie) of heat, all gravitational influences, all solar particle emissions, and all electromagnetic forces, approach earth from along lines parallel to the ecliptic (23.5 degrees away from the equator). If we wish to solve a problem we have to learn how to express it in the proper terms. We have to come to grips with (the possibility) that earthquake, ! tornadoes, hurricanes, and the like may be electrical in natur! e. That may seem fantastic, but no hurricane ever left a path of snow in it's wake as one might expect if it was consuming heat at the rate that a hurricane must. And one must wonder how a mechanical shockwave (said to be earthquake) can sometimes penetrate up to 400 miles of rocky inner earth, and still hit point-blank to devastate downtown at 1st and Main. If earthquake is not earthbound lightning - than I'd sure like to see the proof that it isn't!....Show more

Jackelyn Archut: Well, I don't care if it rain's or freezes...long as I got my plastic Jesus...sitting on the dashboard of my automobile!!Oops...I guess I should have read your instructions and not posted that because it wasn't "scholarly" enough :(
